Holy Land Pilgrimage November 10-19, 2014
Day 1 (Nov 10) Manila-Hong Kong-Tel Aviv-Mt Carmel
Depart NAIA via Hong Kong to connect to Tel Aviv with EVENING ARRIVAL at Ben Gurion Airport around 2200LT. Will be met / assist then transfer to hotel in Mt Carmel for Check In. Overnight Stay at hotel.
Day 2 (Nov 11) Caesarea-Mt. Carmel- Stella Maris- Or HaCarmel- Muchrakka- Cana- Nazareth (B/L/D)
After breakfast, – visit Elijah’s tomb- Stella Maris and the Carmelites monastery- view Haifa port from Mt. Carmel Drive to the Muchrakka (the place where Elijah fought the Baal prophets)- visit “Or HaCarmel” Massianic Jews Congregation. Templer’s Tunnels, Akre Okashi Museum, and Rosh Hanikra with cable car.Drive on the beautiful northern roads to Cana, where the first miracle of Jesus took place. drive to Caesarea, the Roman capital and port where Paul was imprisoned & the first gentile was converted. Continue to Nazareth and visit the Church of Annunciation and Joseph’s workshop. Overnight in Nazareth
Day 3 (Nov 12): Sea of Galilee- Capernaum- Yardenit (B/L/D)
Start the day at Yardenit – with a Baptismal service in the Jordan River. Learn about the discovery of an ancient Galilee fishing boat at Gennesaret. Visit the sites of the Sermon on the Mount, the feeding of the Five Thousand and Jesus’ Appearance to the fisherman disciples after the Resurrection. Drive to Capernaum, the town of Jesus and the remains of its synagogue then sail across the Sea of Galilee to Ein Gev for a St.Peter fish lunch on the lakeside, visit Mt. Of Beatitudes. Overnight in Nazareth.
Day 4 (Nov 13): Beit Shean –Megiddo- Mini Israel-Nazareth (B/L/D)
After breakfast visit Beit Shean the ruins of the Roman/Byzantine cities. Then Drive to Megiddo the site of the epic Armageddon – view 21 layers of civilization. Continue south to Mini Israel and back to the hotel for dinner & overnight in Nazareth
Day 5 (Nov 14): Jerusalem –Old City- City of David (B/L/D)
View the Holy Temple from Mt. of Olives, follow in the footsteps of Jesus and the Galileans – walk down to visit Gethsemane – the Church of All Nations. Visit Mt. Zion the Upper room and King’s David Tomb. Visit Dominus Flevit. Continue across the Kidron valley via the Dung Gate into the Old City then stop at the Western Wall (Kotel) Judaism’s most sacred site. Continue to the Garden Tomb – remember the resurrection, spend time for prayer & reflection. Overnight in Nazareth
Day 6 (Nov 15): Judean Desert- Qumran–Massada – Dead Sea (B/L/D)
Heading East to the Judea Desert. Pass by Jericho, the oldest city in the world for over view. Observe Mt of Temptation. Continue south to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth. Visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. Visit Massada – ruins of King Herod’s mountaintop fortress and last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans in 73 C.E. Swim & float in the Dead Sea. Have a special time to meditate and pray in the views of the Judean Desert. Overnight.
Day 7 (Nov 16): Bethlehem- Jerusalem- Old City (B/L/D)
After breakfast drive to Bethlehem’s Church of Nativity and Shepherd’s Field. After lunch Drive to Jerusalem and visit the little Hill of Golgotha believed to be where the Lord was crucified. Dinner then overnight in Berthlehem.
Day 8 (Nov 17): Bethlehem- Jerusalem- Tel Aviv (B/L/D)
Visit Yad Vashem – National Memorial & Museum of the Holocaust, including: the Valley of the Communities & the Children’s Memorial. After lunch Drive to Tel Aviv. Start the tour with a visit to the old port of Jaffa and the artists’ colony and the Flea Market. Then we will go to Neve Tzedek and Rothschild blvd to see the ‘White City’ main areas. The ‘White City’ is the story of Tel Aviv; from its beginning to today and is a wonderful opportunity to savor the experience of life in Tel Aviv, in the past and present. Back to Hotel and overnight.
Day 9 (Nov 18): Bethlehem – Tel Aviv – Manila (B/L/D)
Breakfast then we check out vefore we drive to the land of Benjamin to visit the Tomb of the Prophet Samuel and continue via the Valley of Ayalon. Stop at the ruins of a basilica which claims to be the site of Emmaus. Drive to Beit Shemesh where the Ark of the Covenant came to rest. A short stop at the Valley of Elah Finally visit the Caves of Beit Guvrin. Proceed to Tel Aviv for some free time for some last minute shopping before we have our farewell dinner before we fly back to Manila via HKG.
Day 10 (Nov 19)
Arrive in Manila and back from a memorable Holy land experience.
